Wings Avoiding The Fricken Trees (Wolv)

Tornjak led the way into the forest, hovering above the trees until he dove into them, dodging the long limbs and thick trunks. He made his way to the river. "You can hunt where you like now, I'm heading to the river." he called over his wings.

"Alright. I'll meet you there later!" Cher called, already scanning through the dense trees in search of rabbits or dwarf deer.

Tornjak flew gently over the river, scanning the surface for fish. Then he stopped, look for the herons... he looked up ahead to see two Great Herons pecking into the water and coming up with small fish. Tornjak smiled, going under. He was going to get a big one. He saw a monstrous lake trout coming toward him. This river must come off a lake. He swam forward with his powerful wings and sank his great beak into the mighty fish. It swam and struggled about in his mouth. Tornjak brought his jaws tighter. The fish stopped moving and he surfaced, swimming on the surface. He swam up to the bank and placed his fish there, he began feasting on a very enjoyable meal.

Cher caught sight of an injured preyton and swooped down to attack it. Obviously the herd had decided that it was too weak and had left it. She killed it quickly and mercifully, picked it up and flew back to the river, moving throught the trees as if born to be there.

FRICKEN CHICKEN

"Good hunting?" Tornjak asked as he saw Cher bring her kill to the river. He was still in the water, how calming it was.

"Mmm.." Cher peplied, setting down her kill. "ANy luck with the fish?"

Tornjak showed Cher the large lake trout. "Pretty good. It's defiantely a mouth full."

"Yep. Haven't had fish for a while." She said as she looked down at the water, stock still, ready to spear fish that came too close to the surface.

"Want a bite?" Tornjak offered, pushing the fish towards Cher.

Cher moved like a flash, spearing a fish as it oassed by. Looking at Tornjak she smiled. "Nah its good. I got my own."

Sheyno bounded into the clearing, his brother following clumsily behind. "You gotta run faster if you wanna keep up, Ko! That's how you--"
The pups skidded to a halt, nearly running into the river. They stared at the other creatures, terrified. Sheyno let out a feeble snarl at them as Kohaku cowered behind him.

Cher looked up and saw two cubs, apparently frozen in fear. "Do not fera young ones. We mean you no harm."

Sheyno and his brother were paralyzed; these creatures were gigantic, even bigger than Rapier--
"D-g-g-get away f-from our pack's f-fish!" Kohaku stuttered from behind Sheyno, spreading his small wings and baring his teeth.

"Watch this." Tornjak whispered to Cher. He got out of the water and stood as tall as possible. He let out a menacing cry that pierced the sky and he spread his giant wings as far as possible.

"Tarnjak!" Cher tutted, cuffing the griffin playfully. "Don't tease! Thet are only pups!" Then she turned to look at the wolves. "The river is for all younglings. Each has their own territory but this river is one of the only few."

The pups yelped in fear and crouched lower, eyes wide, deaf to the other griffin's words.

Cher sighed and looked at the water a moment, catching another fish and tossing it at the cubs. "Go on."

Tornjak chuckled, then he put his wings at his side and took up his fish. He walked calmly to the young wolves and left his great fish at their paws. "Go on, I can find some other prey. Though wolves did sound pretty good." he smiled.

Cher nodded approvingly, then turned to look at the preyton she had caught. Ripping off one of its haunches, she walked over to the pups and dropped it at their feet.

Tornjak lied back down by the river, watching the young pups.

The pups binked as the fish were offered to them. They growled as the first one approached. Kohaku warily moved forward to take a bite of the fish haunch. Sheyno's fur smoothed and he stepped forward, too. "We wouldn't taste good, anyway, y'know." he took a bite, the fish still cold from the river. Glancing upward at the towering griffins, he woofed, "Besides, if you ate us, our daddy would tear you to shreds."
Kohaku nodded. "If our momma didn't get to us first,"

Tornjak almost laughed. "Actually, I find pups to be the most tastiest of griffon prey." he lied. He turned to Cher. "I think I'm getting a little hungry again."

Cher cuffed her companion again. Then she turned to look at the pups. "Even your 'daddy' wouldn't be able to take both 0of us on. We won't eat you anyway."
